27th Call for Proposals Closed with a New Record

On 31 March 2021 the 27th IraSME call for transnational R&D projects closed with a record breaking submission of 44 project proposals. That is an all-time high!

Applicants of all participating countries/regions took the opportunity to form transnational consortia in order to set up their individual innovation projects, aiming at strengthening their companies’ innovation capacities and overall competitiveness. Besides the most common set-up of two IraSME countries/regions involved in one project, we have also received five tri-lateral project proposals, which in itself is a new record number as well.

The participating countries/regions of this call by order of their application numbers: Germany, Turkey, Austria, Russia, Wallonia (Belgium), Flanders (Belgium), Alberta (Canada), Luxembourg, and Brazil.

Topics or fields of technology chosen by our applicants range from bioinformatics, cyber security, AI, technical chemistry and geotechnics to composite fibre materials, robotics control systems, smart textiles, additive manufacturing, photonics, and many more. The proposals have been distributed among the network representatives, and the eligibility checks and evaluation process of the mandatory national applications have started. Results are expected to be communicated in July 2021.

The next IraSME call for proposals will open in early June with its closing date at 29 September 2021.

Cleantech Beyond Borders: Luxembourg and Germany

The dynamic and innovation driven cleantech field proves that it is crucial to team up with highly knowledgeable partners in order to conduct ambitious innovation projects – partners who may be located outside your own country’s borders.

IraSME network members Luxinnovation and AiF Projekt GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) have teamed up with Cleantech Initiative Ostdeutschland (CIO, East German Cleantech Initiative) to organise a free virtual info session (18 May 2021) and pitching day (15 June 2021) targeted at cleantech companies based in Germany (SMEs) and Luxembourg which are interested in joint transnational innovation projects and looking for suitable R&D funding options as well as potential cooperation partners. German and Luxembourgian Research and technology organizations (RTOs) collaborating with SMEs are welcome to register as well.

R&D funding and support is accessible through the IraSME network’s calls for proposals. German partners apply for funding within BMWi’s Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM) and Luxembourgish partners receive assistance from Luxinnovation.
