27th Call Preview

The IraSME coordination office continuously receives enquiries whether the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) will be re-joining the regular IraSME calls for proposals any time soon.
All parties involved are very much interested in continuing the network’s partnership with Austria, and our colleagues at FFG are currently putting a lot of effort into organising everything for the intended participation at the 27th call for proposals.

While we are waiting for the final decision from Austria, we may already assure you that the next IraSME call will be published in late autumn and - in accordance with our regular intervals – will have its deadline end of March 2021.

If you would like to know more about FFG’s and the other partners' funding conditions and contact persons, please visit the “countries and regions” section on the IraSME website.

IraSME @ Germany Day in Skolkovo (26 October 2020)

IraSME and FASIE have kindly been invited by the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH, Moscow) to take part at the Germany Day in Skolkovo, Russia, on 26 October 2020. Together we will present funding opportunities for collaborative research and innovation projects within the IraSME network in general, and German-Russian SME partnerships in particular.

The Germany Day in Skolkovo is a full-day event organised by the Skolkovo Innovation Center, the German Embassy in Moscow, DWIH Moscow, and the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce. The varied agenda offers participants and visitors the chance to attend panel discussions and workshops on topics related to digital future, global partnerships, technology transfer, research-inspired entrepreneurship, support for Russian-German research projects, and the start-up scene in Russia and Germany.

Whether the event will be held on-site at Skolkovo Technopark, as is the current state of planning, or alternatively as an online or hybrid event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, will be announced in due time. The preliminary agenda (English) is available from DWIH’s website:

Autumn Partnering Event: Online Edition on 4 November 2020

IraSME and CORNET, our partner network for transnational pre-competitive research projects, usually organise one or two annual matchmaking events in changing locations in order to help you find potential R&D project partners. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unfortunately not able to meet future applicants and our network partners face-to-face this year.

So while we have to do without our usual offline format of joint discussions, live presentations, informal coffee breaks, and direct face-to-face meetings, we still want to give you the opportunity to introduce yourselves and your R&D topics to one another online and receive first-hand information on IraSME and CORNET funding possibilities.

We are currently planning a webinar and online matchmaking session via B2Match on 4 November 2020, 15.00-17.00 CET. Kindly save the date in your calendars! We will keep you updated on the agenda and available online features.

General Information

IraSME (International research activities by SMEs) is a network of ministries and funding agencies which are owners or managers of national and regional funding programmes for cooperative research projects between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Research and technology organisations (RTOs) can be additional partners or subcontractors in most of those programmes. Against the background of growing competition in global markets, IraSME supports SMEs in their transnational innovation activities, helps them acquiring technological know-how, extending their networks and bridging the gap between research and innovation. Current network partners are Alberta (Canada), Austria, Belgium (Wallonia and Flanders), Brazil, Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, Russia and Turkey.
