General Information

IraSME (International research activities by SMEs) is a network of ministries and funding agencies which are owners or managers of national and regional funding programmes for cooperative research projects between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Research and technology organisations (RTOs) can be additional partners or subcontractors in most of those programmes. Against the background of growing competition in global markets, IraSME supports SMEs in their transnational innovation activities, helps them acquiring technological know-how, extending their networks and bridging the gap between research and innovation. Current network partners are Alberta (Canada), Austria, Belgium (Wallonia and Flanders), Brazil, Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, Russia and Turkey.

26th IraSME Call for Proposals is Open

The IraSME network has opened its 26th joint call for transnational innovative R&D proposals with submission deadline on 30 September 2020.

Participating countries and regions/provinces are: Alberta (Canada), Brazil, the Czech Republic, Flanders & Wallonia (Belgium), Germany, Luxembourg, Russia, and Turkey.

Applicants find all relevant documents and information on the IraSME website: www.ira-sme.net/current-call/
As usual, proposals are submitted by each participating project partner on their respective national levels. In addition, the IraSME Proposal Application Form serves as a summary to be jointly prepared by the project consortium and to be sent by e-mail to info@ira-sme.net
Please feel free to send general enquiries to this e-mail adress as well, and we will support you gladly.

For more detailed information on your national/regional funding programme, please refer to your local funding agencies.

Brazil has joined IraSME

In May 2020, the IraSME network proudly welcomed Brazil as its newest member country.

Brazil will be represented by EMBRAPII, the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Research and Technological Innovation which is responsible for reviewing the national project proposals to be submitted by Brazilian applicants. The agency has joined the current 26th IraSME call for proposals (deadline: 30 September 2020).

EMBRAPII has established partnerships with most innovative international funding agencies and institutions in order to foster joint innovation projects between Brazilian and foreign industrial enterprises and start-ups.

The agency’s “EMBRAPII for SMEs” programme aims at promoting the technological development of new products, processes or business solutions between Brazilian and foreign enterprises, as well as strengthening cooperation between companies and technology research institutions in Brazil and abroad.

More detailed information on EMBRAPII’s funding conditions and contact person is available on www.ira-sme.net/countries-regions/brazil/.
