Open Call: 23rd call with deadline 27 March 2019

The current 23rd IraSME call for joint proposal applications is open till 27 March 2019.

Funding parties involved are Alberta (Canada), Austria, Belgium (Wallonia and Flanders), Germany and Russia.
The Czech Republic is currently only participating in every second call so they plan to join again for the 24th call with deadline end of September 2019.
Luxembourg has not yet confirmed its participation in the call. You should however contact Luxinnovation about funding options.

All countries and regions are published with their national programme on our network website. Please visit www.ira-sme.net for the latest updates.

Applications can only be handed in via email to info@ira-sme.net. If you are interested in the call and connected procedures, we strongly recommend getting in touch with the IraSME coordination office and your corresponding national funding agency as soon as possible.

Next Event @Innovation Day of BMWi in Berlin 09 May 2019

Partner country Austria

Our next IraSME Event will again be integrated in the Innovation Day of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) on the premises of AiF Projekt GmbH in Berlin.

We want to invite you to BMWi's traditional multitechnological innovation trade fair in the park. As in the previous years you will have the opportunity to see (as well as touch and taste) the results of about 300 BMWi funded projects and networks. A perfect setting to get in contact find partners with the right know-how and plan further cooperation.

This year the Innovation Day will have Austria as a Partner country showcasing best practice cooperation as well as possibilities the country has to offer.

To make better use of the setting on the Innovation Day we decided to restructure and open the international area further. We will not offer parallel matchmaking with the b2match platform but instead engage more with the roughly 250 exibitors and about 1.800 guests of the Innovation Day.
On the venue of the International Area there will still be several organisations which support enterprises on their way into international markets presenting their services, best practice examples of international cooperation and a continuous presentation programme.

We will announce further information and the possibility to register in early spring next year.

Impressions from past events are summarized here: www.ira-sme.net/events/previous-events/

Cooperation with Russia: A special service offer prolonged

Russia has been an IraSME member for years and we see a lot of excellent projects with Russian partners. However it is not as easy for Russian companies and researchers to travel to our Partnering Events as for other partners. If you are interested in finding partners for a project with Russia we can offer you two ways of support.

Our Russian IraSME partner FASIE, which is the federal Russian funding agency for small businesses, has offered to find individual partners. You can send us a short profile of your organisation and a description of what you are looking for. We will then forward this profile to FASIE and they will try to identify russian companies in their database that fit your needs.

It should contain: Your contact details and a short profile. If you have a concrete project in mind add a short sketch and if not, mention the area of technology you would like to work in. Try to be as precise as possible in what you are looking for. Be aware that the Russian program only funds small companies with up to 100 employees which already sets the scope for possible partners.
Please send your profiles to info@ira-sme.net.

We are also thinking about organising a partnering event in Russia next year or in 2020. To evaluate beforehand if there is sufficient interest from participants we'd like to ask you about your feedback. If you would generally be interested in a matchmaking event in Russia send us an email to info@ira-sme.net.
If we get enough interested we'll start planning and keep you informed.

Previous Partnering Event: Aachen 26 November 2018

With more than 100 participants from 8 countries the IraSME / CORNET Partnering Event in Aachen was again a great success.

The third IraSME Partnering Event in 2018 was again organised with our partner network CORNET and in cooperation with the EEN network supported by ZENIT e.V.. It took place in Aachen at the WZL Institute on campus of RWTH Aachen, as our new network partner GCCIR from Alberta has a strong focus here.
More than a 100 participants attended the event and filled the rooms at EICe forum with more than 15 elevator pitch presentations and discussions about science and technology in the Face-to-Face meeting area. New contacts were initiated and joint project ideas could be developed.

General Information

IraSME (International research activities by SMEs) is a network of ministries and funding agencies which are owners or managers of national and regional funding programmes for cooperative research projects between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Research and technology organisations (RTOs) can be additional partners or subcontractors in most of those programmes. Against the background of growing competition in global markets, IraSME supports SMEs in their transnational innovation activities, helps them acquiring technological know-how, extending their networks and bridging the gap between research and innovation. Current network partners are Alberta (Canada), Austria, Belgium (Wallonia and Flanders), Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg and Russia.
