General Information

IraSME (International research activities by SMEs) is a network of ministries and funding agencies which are owners or managers of national and regional funding programmes for cooperative research projects between Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs) can be additional partners or subcontractors in most of those programmes. Against the background of growing competition in global markets, IraSME supports SMEs in their transnational innovation activities, helps them acquiring technological know-how, extending their networks and bridging the gap between research and innovation. Current network partners are Alberta (Canada), Austria, Belgium (Wallonia and Flanders), Czech Republic, the region Hauts-de-France, Germany, Luxembourg and Russia.

New partner: GCCIR (Canada) joins IraSME

We are excited to introduce the newest member in the IraSME network. Starting with the 22nd call, you will have the possibility to apply for cooperation projects with partners from Alberta (Canada).

GCCIR will be the responsible partner for the support and evaluation of Canadian applications. For more information: www.gccir.ca

A very warm welcome!
"The German-Canadian Centre for Innovation and Research (GCCIR) is a multilateral initiative for the development of German–Canadian, and more recently, broader European-Canadian research and business relations. Based in Edmonton, Alberta and located in the TEC Edmonton Business Accelerator, the GCCIR provides support for the exchange of information, development of networks, and the establishment and cultivation of collaborative partnerships in academia, business, and industry. In addition to multiple academic partnerships, the GCCIR works with the Albertan Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to operate the Alberta-Europe Collaboration Fund, which grew out of the success of the Alberta-Germany Collaboration Fund. Both programs are aimed at facilitating and supporting joint, innovative technology development projects between Albertan and European SMEs."

The previous 21st call for joint proposal applications involved: Austria, Belgium (Wallonia and Flanders), Luxembourg, Russia and Germany. Last Partnering Event:  @WZL of RWTH Aachen

At our latest partnering event at RWTH Aachen (WZL institute) on 31 January 2018, we welcomed almost 90 participants at the premises of our network partner WZL Aachen. The guests were able to receive information on the available funding mechanisms, followed several elevator pitches by other institutions and use the pre-scheduled Face-to-Face meetings for separate discussions on potential collaborations and new project ideas.
